About the Role



We are seeking an experienced Clinical Disability Assessment Specialist to join our team in Northern Ireland. As a Clinical Disability Assessment Specialist, you will play a vital role in assessing the permanent disablement caused by Troubles-Related Incidents (TRIs) and provide a structured assessment report to the Victims Payments Board (VPB) decision makers.



Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct clinical functional assessments for applicants to the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme (TPDPS) to determine the level of permanent disablement caused by a TRI(s).
  • Gather relevant information from applicants and/or their representatives, and analyze and interpret clinical information along with any other supporting evidence.
  • Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner, including a detailed history, a full justification, and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the VPB in its decision-making.


Requirements


  • A fully registered medical practitioner, such as a psychologist, registered nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or social worker, or fully registered with a regulatory body with a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience (4 years for social workers).
  • A valid full driving licence and access to a car.
  • A demonstrable background in a Mental Health/Psychiatric specialty.
  • Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales.
  • Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions, and cultures.
  • Report writing skills with an ability to deal with a high percentage of work using a laptop and IT systems.
  • Strong analytical skills familiar with MS Office, particularly Excel/Word and PowerPoint.
