Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving financial success and contributing to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing Accurate Financial Statements:
    • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Variance analysis and financial performance insights.
    • Budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensuring Regulatory Compliance:
    • Evaluating compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Liaising with external auditors and coordinating the audit process.
    • Maintaining and updating internal control procedures.
  • Managing Cash Flow:
    • Monitoring and managing the organization's cash flow.
    • Developing cash management strategies to optimize financial resources.
  • Overseeing Taxation:
    • Tax planning and compliance activities.
    • Coordinating with external tax advisors as necessary.
  • Leading the Finance Team:
    • Supervising and mentoring the finance team.
    • Fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or be Qualified by Experience.
  • 3 - 5 years experience in financial management in a similar role.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
