About the Role

Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking highly skilled and experienced constables to join our Armed Response Unit as Authorized Firearms Officers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a high level of service to the community, responding to high-risk situations, and working closely with other units to maintain public safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake all duties outlined in the National Authorized Firearms Officer role profile.
  • Produce a training record endorsed by your Chief Firearms Instructor.
  • Be substantively in the rank of Constable within a Home Office force.
  • Be an occupationally and operationally competent Authorized Firearms Officer trained to a minimum AFO role profile as detailed in the NPFTC.
  • Pass the JRFT to level 9-4 on application.
  • Be a current police advanced driver or willing to take an advanced driving course.
  • Evidence occupational and operational competence at interview.
  • Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues with your current force.
