Job Title: Management Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our team at Contract Personnel Ltd.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Management Accountant to take on a challenging role in a growing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, managing the purchase ledger, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts to EBITDA level for approval by the Head of Finance
  • Manage the purchase ledger, including maintaining lead schedules and preparing monthly accounts for satellite micro entities
  • Assist the Head of Finance with preparation of annual budget and forecasting tasks
  • Prepare monthly payroll for approval by the Head of Finance and the director team
  • Assist with weekly cash flow analysis and reporting
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors on routine year-end queries
  • Review and monitor the company VAT account and partial exemption status
  • Assist with company compliance processes
  • Monitor inventory levels and report to the Head of Finance and Head of Sales on slow-moving stock and the company stock profile
  • Work with the Head of Finance and Head of Sales to ensure accurate reporting of monthly gross margins
  • Prepare weekly KPI information
  • Be a driver for the development of the company's operational reporting and KPI development in line with strategic goals
  • Oversee the purchase ledger function, including assisting the purchase ledger clerk with routine queries and reporting to the Head of Finance on monthly accounts payable
  • Oversee the monthly receivables report and communicate outstanding receivables with staff
  • Prepare the monthly bonus and commission reports for approval by the Head of Finance
  • Post and monitor intercompany transactions and track costs across multiple entities
  • Oversee bank reconciliation and assist with general posting queries
  • Monitor and record income from various regional optical bodies, including NHS and local clinics
  • Assist the Head of Finance with preparation of presentational aspects of finance and help to analyze results ready for communication to operational teams
Requirements:
  • Appropriately qualified, having completed AAT studies or a similar level of qualified status
  • Accumulated knowledge and experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments
  • Comfortable with supervising and assisting other members of the finance team
