About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide strong and visible leadership for the History department, setting the strategic direction and ensuring its continued success. They will develop and implement a clear vision and curriculum for History, aligned with the school's overall goals and the National Curriculum. As a collaborative team leader, they will foster collaboration, professional development, and a culture of high expectations among History teachers. Regular monitoring and tracking of student progress will be essential, with a focus on identifying and supporting those who need extra help. Furthermore, the successful candidate will oversee the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment within the History department and contribute to the wider leadership team of the school. Additionally, they will represent the History department at school events and within the wider educational community.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a qualified History Teacher with a minimum of 5 years' successful teaching experience, including significant leadership experience within a secondary school setting. A proven track record of raising standards and improving student outcomes in History is essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring the next generation of historians. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and empower colleagues, are also crucial. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills will enable the successful candidate to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
