Your responsibilities

  • Provide senior clinical advisory services to sites on clinical matters and clinical strategy across Pinhoe View, The Woodmill, and The Copse.
  • Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of care.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical governance within Elysium's healthcare structures.
  • Supervise and manage medical staff, including recruitment and training.
  • Represent the region within Elysium's clinical governance structures, promoting best practices and expert knowledge.
  • Hold the role of Responsible Clinician with an inpatient caseload, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and partnerships to deliver effective care.
  • Implement the Mental Health Act and liaise with the Ministry of Justice as required.
  • Lead clinical governance meetings and service development at your chosen site, working alongside the Hospital Director.

There is a two-tier on-call system, with the post holder participating in the second tier as the duty Responsible Clinician.

The post holder will provide cover for other medical colleagues during annual leave and other absences, with reciprocal support.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approval from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved Clinician status.
  • Desirable: previous medical leadership experience.
