Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Matron to join our Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS team. As a Senior Matron, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our maternity workforce. Your primary responsibilities will include accurate admission and discharge of women and their newborns, ensuring the safe transfer of care is communicated to community teams. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe environment on the ward by monitoring incoming and outgoing partners, visitors, and women's own children in adherence to our maternity visiting policy. Full training is available to ensure you are proficient with our electronic systems.
Main Duties
You will provide efficient and effective clerical support to midwifery and medical staff at ward level. This will involve providing administrative assistance, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our ward's day-to-day activities.

Person Specification
Essential criteria include good general education, organisational abilities, and verbal communication skills. Desirable criteria include previous clerical experience and experience working in a healthcare environment. This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and will require a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
