Warehouse Operative & Driver Job Description

A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Warehouse Operative & Driver to join our client, a well-established freight forwarding agent. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including loading and unloading vehicles, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily vehicle and forklift checks, maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency
  • Perform collection and delivery tasks using a small van, adhering to strict timeframes and quality standards
  • Load and unload vehicles using a counterbalance forklift, ensuring accurate and secure handling of goods
  • Manage inventory, including goods booking in and out, and maintaining accurate records
  • Conduct damage reports and documentation checks, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Participate in cargo labelling, manifesting, and dangerous goods awareness training
  • Perform manual handling of goods, adhering to health and safety guidelines
  • Assist with ad-hoc administrative duties, as required
Requirements:
  • Physically fit and able to lift, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written English skills, with basic MS Office proficiency
  • Hold a standard UK clean driving licence, with a minimum of 1 year's driving experience
  • Forklift licence (training provided), with a strong understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Steady 5-year employment/education history, with no gaps or criminal record
