Job Title: Building Control Surveyor

Vox Network Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Building Control Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients meet their statutory duties and comply with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out plans examination, inspection of works in progress, and control of demolitions and dangerous structures in accordance with the Building Act 1984 and other allied legislation.
  • Work independently, using professional judgement to assess complex situations and make key life safety decisions.
  • Represent the authority to ensure that new building developments and alterations to existing buildings meet the requirements of Building Regulations.
  • Provide supervision and support to junior members of staff, ensuring compliance is achieved and the service meets its statutory obligation.
  • Attend emergency callouts 24/7/365 to respond to requests from Emergency Services and determine the scale and nature of emergency measures to make them and the public safe.
Requirements:
  • Degree, HNC or degree equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
  • Membership of a professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
  • Achieved or working towards a minimum of Class 2 registration.
  • 5 years Building Control experience, either with a local authority or a private organisation.
What We Offer:
  • Initial 6-month contract with the opportunity to extend.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
  • PAYE via Umbrella.
