Job Title: Project Research Scientist

About the Role:

Emotech Ltd is seeking an experienced NLP/TTS Applied Research Scientist to join our team in London. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting applied research in speech and NLP topics, with a strong focus on Arabic NLP with applications for TTS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in speech and NLP topics, with a focus on Arabic NLP and TTS applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP and bring new ideas into our research.
  • Collaborate closely with the research team to turn research into working solutions.
  • Deliver production-ready code that can be deployed to customers.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree or higher in NLP or an adjacent area of Engineering/Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in Arabic speech and language technologies in industry (or academic equivalent).
  • Proficient knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used in the community (e.g. Python, Rust, C++11).
  • Experience in Linux environments, working with CUDA-capable machines.
  • In-depth knowledge of algorithms for NLP, speech processing, and deep learning.

Advantages:

  • Previous experience in Text-to-Speech (Speech-to-text experience can also be considered).
  • Proficient/bilingual/native level of Arabic.
  • Previous experience using Deep Learning techniques for NLP such as transformers.

  • Previous experience working closely with product/project stakeholders.
