Role

This position requires an electrical biased engineer who is willing to develop their skills in automation, PLC's, controls and robotics.

The ideal candidate will provide electrical assistance in fault diagnostics and breakdown repairs to automation, PLC's and control systems across all areas of manufacturing.

In addition, they will be involved in project work, working closely with the control manager to improve and upgrade the site's PLC systems, automation and robotics.

Responsibilities also include managing site electrical compliance, legislation, documentation, reporting, PAT and being the site Electrical Duty Holder once trained.


Essential Requirements
  • Mandatory requirement: electrical biased engineer or controls technician background.
  • Desirable: previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Strong PLC - electrical fault finding skills required.
  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (HNC/HND) or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification minimum.
  • Beneficial: 18th Edition certification.
  • Relevant apprenticeship training desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines essential.
  • Previous experience with automation and control systems necessary.
  • Familiarity with structured PPM's (own initiative and team-based) beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, isolation and LOTO principles required.
  • Experience with control panel design, build, installation and testing (FAT) desired.
  • Familiarity with SCADA and robotic systems advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical compliance, legislations and standards essential.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills critical.
  • Manufacturing continuous improvement experience valuable.
  • Willingness to train and develop skills crucial.
