Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Breakfast Club Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and engaging environment for children's play experiences. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Club Manager in planning and delivering a programme of activities that meet the needs and interests of all children
- Providing a creative and stimulating environment for children's play, including arts, crafts, games, sports, and drama
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with children, parents, and carers, promoting parental involvement and supporting children's emotional and social development
- Assisting with Health and Safety issues, including risk assessment, first aid, and maintaining a clean and tidy environment
- Attending team meetings and contributing to the development of the Breakfast Club programme
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with:
- NVQ2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (Playworker or Childcare)
- Good numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Appropriate knowledge of first aid and Health and Safety procedures
- A willingness to undertake further training and development to meet the needs of the children and the Breakfast Club programme
- Experience in a similar role or working within a school setting, with a proven track record of supporting children's learning and development
