Job Description

This exciting opportunity is for a Child Mental Health Therapist to join our CAMHS team in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

You will have the opportunity to work with a range of therapeutic interventions and develop your skills in evidence-based practice. Our team works closely with social care, health and education agencies to deliver accessible therapeutic support for children & young people with emotional & mental health difficulties.

The ideal candidate will have relevant professional qualifications in mental health nursing, psychotherapy, counselling or above in a relevant field. Direct experience as a practitioner in a mental health setting with children is essential.

  • You will be knowledgeable about how to work therapeutically with Children & Young People with anxiety, depression, and other mental health-related problems.
  • Experience of facilitating group work, training, consultation and assessments, including risk assessments, is highly desirable.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant professional qualification in mental health nursing, psychotherapy, counselling or above in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrable experience as a practitioner in a mental health setting with children.
  • Knowledge and existing skills regarding a range of therapeutic interventions and their application to practice for a wide range of mental health presentations.
