Electrical Design Manager

Omega Resource Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Manager to join their team in Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of CAD technicians and Electrical Design Engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the design and development of high voltage electrical infrastructure, including substations and grid connections.
  2. Collaborate with the CAD drafting team to generate equipment layouts, cable route drawings, and construction plans.
  3. Select and specify primary equipment, including HV substations, and design secondary control wiring and protection schemes.
  4. Prepare multicore cable schedules and design packages for DNO contestable works.
  5. Ensure all designs are safe, compliant with CDM and Health and Safety regulations, and effectively communicate risks to project engineers and construction operatives.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience as an electrical engineer in the electrical contracting or utilities industries.
  2. Degree in Electrical Engineering and higher degree or postgraduate qualification in power systems an advantage.
  3. Ability to support the continued development of electrical design engineers and successfully manage a team of engineers.
  4. Full UK driving license and ability to travel on work-related business with occasional overnight stays.
