Manufacturing Technician Specialist

ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to contribute to our Global Operations team at Optos, based in Dunfermline, Fife.
This technical role involves assembling and fault-finding of highly complicated systems requiring knowledge of mechanics, electronic, optical engineering, and software (specifically Linux).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembling materials in kit form while adhering to strict working procedures.
- Aligning complex optical systems.
- Fault finding of scan heads.
- Maintaining capacity and quality levels.
- Ensuring area cleanliness and functionality at all times.
- Effective use of jigs and fixtures.
- Collaborating with the team to achieve targets.
- Completing Microsoft Word and Excel based route cards.
- Potentially working in stores area packing and unpacking product.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- HNC or above (or equivalent) or equivalent education gained through work experience.
- Previous experience in an optical/scientific instrumentation environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately follow instructions.
- PC literate – specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Physical capability as described in the 'Additional Job Demands' below.
