About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at The People Network. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis & Modelling: Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights. Develop predictive models, particularly focusing on tree-based models such as Random Forests, Gradient Boosting Machines, and XGBoost, to improve risk assessment and customer segmentation.
  • Data Engineering: Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and implement scalable data pipelines on AWS using DataBricks. Ensure data is clean, reliable, and accessible for analysis.
  • Model Deployment & Maintenance: Deploy models into production environments using DataBricks and AWS services. Monitor model performance and retrain models as necessary to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, and business analysts to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and cloud technologies. Proactively identify opportunities to apply new methods and technologies to improve existing processes.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience with Python for data analysis and machine learning.
  • Hands-on experience with DataBricks and AWS for building and deploying data pipelines and models.
  • Strong understanding of tree-based models (e.g., Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, XGBoost).

We offer a competitive salary of between £65,000 - £85,000, an excellent working environment, and benefits.
