Data Governance Role at Lorien

Lorien is hiring a Data Governance Consultant / Manager to lead data governance initiatives for a major insurer client. This is a great opportunity to leverage your expertise in data governance practices and approaches to drive success in a large organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects. They will work closely with business, data, and technical teams to document data governance requirements and provide guidance on best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with data champions to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and improving data quality.
  • Implementing effective data governance practices across the organization.
  • Maintaining key data governance framework assets and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Contributing to projects that deliver new capabilities, services, and assets in our roadmap.
  • Integrating data governance risks and controls into our enterprise risk management framework.
  • Developing and reporting key performance and risk indicators for data governance.
  • Creating data governance literacy materials and sharing them with our data community.
  • Evaluating control effectiveness and compliance to standards and policy, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Preparing meeting packs and reports to facilitate data governance discussions.
  • SUPPORTING our communications strategy and maintaining our data governance SharePoint site.

**Key Requirements:**

  • Experience as a data governance practitioner or similar role.
  • Expertise in data governance approaches and practices in large organizations.
  • Ability to work with business, data, and technical teams to document data governance requirements.
  • Experience assisting in the implementation of data governance projects in a large organization.
  • Strong communication skills with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and articulate complex technical themes to business partners.
  • High attention to detail while maintaining a broad understanding.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Insurance broking industry knowledge.

We offer a salary range of £60,000 to £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
