Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our reputable and thriving planning team. As a Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing planning project work in-house, including initial site appraisals and evaluation, preparation of written reports and statements, and submission of all planning application documentation.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a background in either a private or public sector setting, working for a consultancy, local authority, developer, or land promoter. You will need to be at a stage in your career where you are ready to take ownership of projects, with a minimum of 5 years professional planning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage planning project work in-house, including initial site appraisals and evaluation
- Prepare written reports and statements
- Submit all planning application documentation
- Meet and negotiate with Planning Officers and other parties involved in the application process
- Be involved in Planning Committee and Appeal situations, as required
About You
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Upwards of 5 years experience in a town planning role
- High standards of written and verbal communication
- Ambitious, self-motivated, and a genuine team player
- A keen interest in the full land and planning process
- A full UK driving licence
