Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team at a busy production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient production operations by performing regular preventative maintenance and addressing any issues that arise across the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily checks across the production site and associated plant to identify and diagnose potential issues.
  • Perform regular scheduled PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) servicing to maintain processing equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve breakdowns across various machinery and plant equipment on production lines.
  • Maintain processing equipment, including fluid pumps, air actuators, separators, homogenisers, steam boilers, and heat exchangers.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Supervisor and Manager on continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency, reduce wastage, and extend machine life.
  • Work closely with the Planning, Production, QA, and Laboratory teams to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
  • Complete all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with Food Assurance standards.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support project work, including the introduction of new plant and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a GMP-regulated environment is ideal, though training will be provided in Food Safety and Quality Standards.
  • Experience with dairy process lines is desirable, but experience with pumps, motors, and similar equipment will be considered.
  • A keen interest in future technology and equipment.
  • Experience in FMCG/Food environments is a plus, with an understanding of rapid response to minimize downtime.
  • Flexibility to support the business during peak times.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
