Special Education Needs Educational Support Assistant

Reeson Education is working with an established community-based primary school in Kilburn, London. The school is close to local train stations, making it easily accessible from most parts of the city. The headteacher is looking for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join their KS1 team in year 1.
The team is friendly and supportive, with regular guidance from the deputy headteacher, SENCO, and a supervising teaching assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a child in year 1 with Autism (ASD) and will need to have some experience within EYFS (nursery or reception).
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Supporting the child on a 1:1 basis inside and outside of the classroom.
- Ensuring the child's general safety and managing any behaviour.
- Assisting the teacher to achieve academic growth.
This is a full-time position, 8:30am - 4pm (term time only), and the successful candidate must be able to commit to the entire academic year. There is also the opportunity to secure a permanent position within this school from September 2025.
To Qualify for this SEN Teaching Assistant Post:- A minimum of 3 months SEN/EYFS experience, classroom-based or relevant.
- A hardworking attitude with the desire and passion to help students achieve greatness.
- A DBS (Reeson Education can help you apply should you meet all other criteria).
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a child-based subject is desirable.
