Ecologist/Senior Ecologist Opportunity at FPCR

We are seeking an experienced ecologist or senior ecologist to join our team in York. As a leading integrated design practice, we work extensively throughout the UK, delivering award-winning schemes in environmentally sensitive locations.

About the Role:

  • Leverage your expertise to lead and deliver high-quality ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with our talented team of ecologists, landscape architects, and environmental planners.
  • Prioritize project management, meeting deadlines for medium to large-scale projects.
  • Develop and implement effective ecological reports and plans.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients and colleagues.
  • Stay up-to-date on Biodiversity Net Gain, DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric, and associated reporting requirements.

Your Background:

  • Minimum degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in ecological consultancy (Ecologist) or proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects (Senior Ecologist).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Membership or eligibility for relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIEEM).
  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
