About the Role
Rochdale Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance Support Services team within the Corporate Services Directorate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial expertise and support to the Head of Finance and other stakeholders, including the preparation of financial appraisals and business modelling for service revenue and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the Council's business objectives.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to officers and stakeholders to inform decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Medium Term Financial Strategy.
- Embrace the Council's transformation program and drive the adoption of new technologies to improve financial processes.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Deputise for the Head of Finance as required.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant experience in financial management, preferably within a local government or public sector organization.
They will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-technical stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality financial services and supporting the Council's strategic objectives.
