Civil Senior Site Engineer Job Description

Elvet Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Civil Senior Site Engineer to join a large main civil engineering contractor on a long-term project near Doncaster.

The project is part of the contractor's busy workload, which includes projects for Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent Water, with a strong pipeline of work up to 2026 and beyond.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Developing and implementing Inspection Test Plans and Inspection Test Reports
  • Leading quality control initiatives
  • Coordinating site-specific permits and sub-contractor management
  • Assisting with Construction Phase Plans and managing other engineers
  • Checking engineering work on site and conducting complex setting out as needed
  • Reporting to and working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Section Engineer, Sub-Agent, or Senior Site Engineer on heavy civil engineering projects
  • Experience working as a main contractor on projects over 10m
  • Highly skilled in the use of relevant equipment, including Leica Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD
  • Industry-related qualification (HNC/HND or Degree) is beneficial
  • CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, and full driving license are required

Remuneration:

A salary of up to 56,000 (dependent on experience) plus benefits, including an EV/Hybrid company vehicle or allowance, annual leave, 7% pension, fuel paid, healthcare, share scheme, and other perks.
