Case Worker

- Analyse complaints, communicate with members of the public, and understand their dissatisfaction with the WMP service.
- Scope complaints and conduct matters objectively in accordance with complaints and misconduct legislation. Ensure evidence is secured and preserved.
- Identify risk and vulnerabilities, ensure policy and process followed to mitigate risks and safeguarding in place.
- Ensure accurate documentation of relevant scoping and information on electronic systems to support data integrity and abstraction.
- Using effective communication skills and initiative, identify the best means of resolution to assist the Appropriate Authority in making informed decisions.
- Complete legislative correspondence precisely and professionally, ensuring relevant policing powers and legislation referenced to support outcomes.
- Ensure any relevant learning identified and actioned to improve confidence in served communities.
- Offer resilience to the Investigation Team supporting smooth running of Post Incident Procedures, supporting arrest and execution of search warrants when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including accurate record-keeping and writing letters with confidence, ensuring policy decisions recorded.
- Decisive decision-making supported by NDM and THRIVE+.
- Able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of policing processes, powers, policy, and legislation.
- Proven commitment to fairness, diversity, and inclusion.
- Current experience of using and exploring policing systems.
- Able to demonstrate robust but professional approach to challenging conversations, showing empathy and understanding to victims of crime.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, managing high workload, demonstrating motivation and commitment to improving public trust confidence.
- Must be willing to undergo and pass relevant vetting requirements to MV level.
