We are seeking a seasoned Design Manager to join our team at Kier Group, based in the Eastern and Midlands region. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering a major project for the Department for Education (DFE).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage the design process during the pre-construction and construction phases, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal departments and external consultants.
- Interrogate Employer's Requirements documents to inform the development of a Contractor's Proposal.
- Lead the production of high-quality design documents, working closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Drive innovative and cost-effective solutions into the design, leveraging your expertise to optimize project outcomes.
- Oversee the design process, ensuring designers meet critical information delivery dates and progress design issues within strict timelines.
- Represent the team at tender launch, tender adjudication, and launch meetings as required.
**Ideal Candidate:**
- Proven experience in delivering high-value, complex design projects from a main contractor's perspective.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and programming skills, with the ability to manage workloads effectively.
- Strong understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
- Commercial awareness and experience with different client procurement routes.
- Knowledge of site and contract procedures is an asset.
