Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

Randstad is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a global company based in Clevedon. The successful candidate will work in a manual assembly production facility, with products involving a mix of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To develop and implement Lean manufacturing processes in accordance with the Vacuum Technique Production System guidelines.
  2. Accountable for defining, setting up, and optimizing processes within allocated manufacturing cells.
  3. Implement continuous improvement activities and projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  4. Conduct risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cells, including the creation of safe systems of work.
  5. Specify and purchase appropriate tooling and equipment for allocated manufacturing cells.
  6. Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 regulations.
  7. Resolve or support non-conformities impacting the manufacturing process.
  8. Eliminate routing and material variances within allocated manufacturing cells.
  9. React to production feedback and manufacturing lessons learned to influence design revision or correction through the engineering change process.
Requirements
  1. Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent engineering qualification.
  2. Process documentation authoring, writing of procedures, and work instructions.
  3. Experience in optimizing production processes and providing production support.
  4. Problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  5. IT literacy, proficient user of MS Office and similar applications.
  6. Understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  7. Experience in implementing Lean manufacturing principles.
  8. Technical knowledge, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics.
  9. Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
  10. MRP/ERP system use - SAP.
  11. Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements for health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  12. Project management experience, including risk, schedule, and cost.

This is a full-time permanent position with a salary bracket of £37,000-£45,000 depending on experience, plus a 7.5% annual bonus and other benefits.
