About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Household Carer to join our team at KYN Hurlingham. As a Household Carer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality person-centred care to our residents, promoting their dignity, respect, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Nurse and Household Care Lead in delivering exceptional care to residents, preserving their dignity and respect.
  • Understand personal care planning and take responsibility for all aspects of care, including infection control and moving and handling training.
  • Ensure residents receive the highest standard of individualised person-centred care and attention.
  • Promote residents' independence and respect their choices and preferences as reflected in their care plan.
  • Assist residents with personal care, such as washing, dressing, and using the toilet, according to their individual abilities and care needs.
  • Undertake minor medical duties, including oral care, skin care, catheter care, and end-of-life care.
  • Work with the team to ensure residents' medical, physical, social, and emotional needs are met.
  • Use medical equipment, including hoists, commodes, profiling beds, and slide sheets.
  • Create a nurturing environment where residents and their family members feel loved, happy, safe, and secure.
  • Ensure residents participate in decisions about their care, promoting an exceptional quality of life.
  • Understand personal care planning, including signs and symptoms of infections, incontinence, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Support residents at mealtimes, particularly those who require assistance.
  • Encourage residents to participate in recreational activities and provide physical and mental stimulation.
  • Support and develop new and less experienced Household Carers.
  • Attend clinical supervision sessions and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Attend team meetings and issue daily reports to the person in charge.
About You
  • You will have experience working in a Health and Social Care setting.
  • You will ideally have an NVQ/QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • You will be patient, able to deal with difficult situations, and have excellent communication skills.
  • You will be an effective team player who builds professional and trusting relationships with every member of the team.
  • You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to anticipate problems.
  • You will be able to resolve complaints and investigate and manage incidents effectively.
  • You will be a compassionate, empathetic, kind, and caring individual.
  • You will have the flexibility to meet work requirements.
