Senior Clinical Educator

Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Educator to join the Education and Practice Development team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Senior Educator, developing and leading the delivery of ward and classroom-based education and competency-based assessment programmes across the organisation.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative, multi-professional educational programmes in line with the patient safety agenda workforce and patient need. They will work autonomously, using their own clinical expertise, to enable changes in the programme and changes in practice based on ongoing evaluation of education and the implementation.
About the Role
The Senior Clinical Educator will play a key role in promoting the highest standards of clinical practice and improved patient outcomes at the South Tees NHS Foundation Trust hospital sites. They will work as an integral part of the Education and Practice Development Team, leading on and guiding the organisation to redesign clinical care delivery to ensure that robust clinical skills and associated training feature in the Trust's drive to enhance patient safety.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of the recognition and management of the deteriorating ill patient, excellent evidence-based clinical skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to the clinical setting. They will also have effective teaching, facilitation, assessment, and feedback skills, as well as the ability to challenge and change practice and act as a credible role model for colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
The post holder will require current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council, a degree in nursing or a related subject, and advanced life support provider status. They will also need to have a recognised teaching qualification and leadership qualification, as well as a masters degree or evidence of working towards.
Leadership and Improvement Training
The successful candidate will be expected to attend the Trust's leadership and improvement training programme, which has been designed to support leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. The programme aims to explore leadership within the NHS, promote Trust values and behaviours, and develop leadership effectiveness and skills.
