We are seeking a Packaging Buyer to develop and implement a local procurement strategy that adds exceptional value to our business.
In this role, you will align local business needs with global sourcing strategies, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality goods. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, drive profitability through cost-saving initiatives, and enhance our products to delight customers.
Main Responsibilities- Prepare tenders, brief suppliers, collate and analyse quotes, and conduct negotiations.
- Place business with relevant contracts, MIRs, and SLAs, and serve as the project management interface with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Analyse the current portfolio, work with stakeholders to align business strategy and needs for various timeframes, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the supply market, supplier capabilities, strategies, product cost structures, and commodity trends.
- Regularly communicate cost trends to key stakeholders, establish transparent budgets for all procured items, and create and maintain a forecasting methodology for accurate fiscal year cost projections.
- Deliver forecasted variances and drive cost reduction projects.
- Assess supplier positioning based on risk and value, develop strategies to achieve the best value for Ferrero while incentivising suppliers, and ensure proper contractual rigor in the SRM process.
- Facilitate relationships across the business and supply base as needed.
- Manage supplier setup and approval, handle supplier claims, and resolve supply issues effectively.
- Facilitate direct contact between relevant internal and external parties to ensure innovation flows into key business areas and collaborate with NPD teams to source appropriate products.
- Understand and communicate the value beyond cost, challenge internal behaviours that impede value realisation, and support stakeholders in pursuing business value.
To excel in this role, you will need strong SAP and Microsoft Office skills (including Word and Excel). Proficiency with SAP Ariba for running ERFx would be beneficial.
A demonstrated experience in the sourcing process is essential, covering areas such as scouting, contract preparation and negotiation, preparing tenders, and awarding business. Additionally, you should have proven experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and project management skills.
In-depth product and category knowledge is crucial, and you must be willing and able to travel for business as required.
Experience in an FMCG business and in managing people are highly valuable assets.
