Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced social worker to join our team as a Permanence Planning Social Worker. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessments to assist in permanence planning for children, writing high-quality reports, and working effectively with a wide range of agencies and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake assessments to assist in permanence planning for children
  • Write high-quality reports, including child permanence reports, matching children for adoptive placement, together and apart assessment, and court reports and statements
  • Work effectively with a wide range of agencies and teams, including birth families, adoptive families, and other professionals
  • Undertake life story work with children and prepare them for adoption
  • Match children with an adoptive family and undertake any outstanding work with the birth family
  • Complete court work, including viability assessments and special guardianship assessments

Requirements:

  • Qualification in social work
  • Experience of working with children and families
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of agencies and teams
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and care planning
