Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our team at Spire Clare Park Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting pre-operative assessments for patients, working autonomously and as part of a team to ensure high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-operative assessments for patients, including a targeted history and assessment of past medical, operative, and anaesthetic history.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to meet workload targets and adhere to standardized working practices and protocols.
  • Liaise with anaesthetists and surgeons to determine fitness to proceed and escalate where necessary.
  • Ensure patients meet surgical admissions criteria for the appropriate level of care.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
  • Previous pre-assessment experience is desirable.
  • Competence across a range of nursing skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
  • Able to demonstrate the principles of accountable practice.
  • Full and current UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.
