About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to join our team, working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Neonatal Outreach Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of newborns, including those requiring phototherapy, blood transfusions, and other specialized treatments.

You will work closely with parents and families to provide emotional support and guidance, empowering them to participate in their baby's care and well-being. Your expertise will be essential in identifying and meeting the nutritional needs of newborns, assessing and planning feeding regimes, and calculating daily fluid requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of newborns, including those requiring phototherapy, blood transfusions, and other specialized treatments.
  • Work closely with parents and families to provide emotional support and guidance, empowering them to participate in their baby's care and well-being.
  • Identify and meet the nutritional needs of newborns, assessing and planning feeding regimes, and calculating daily fluid requirements.
  • Act as the baby's and parents' advocate, respecting their need for privacy and dignity.
  • Demonstrate competency in specific clinical skills, such as administration of intravenous drug infusions, antibiotics, fluids, and total parenteral nutrition.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with newborns or children.
  • Care planning skills.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and coordinate own and others' work on a shift-to-shift basis.
