Job Summary:

The Estates Department at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Maintenance Craftsman to join their team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and installation service for the Trust's buildings, grounds, engineering services, and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing maintenance and repair services for buildings, grounds, and engineering services
  • Installing and testing equipment and systems
  • Carrying out routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of Trust facilities
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure effective maintenance and repair services
  • Participating in an emergency on-call rota and responding to out-of-hours maintenance requests

Requirements:

  • Recognised Mechanical, Plumbing, or Building Services apprenticeship
  • Wide experience in building engineering services and plant maintenance
  • BTEC HNC level or City and Guilds qualification, plus relevant post-apprenticeship training or equivalent experience
  • Current UK (manual) driving licence
  • Residency within half an hour's normal travel time to fulfill on-call duties

Benefits:

  • Salary - Band 5 plus local RRP (£3,277 pa)
  • Approximate £1,000 pa on-call retainer
  • Overtime opportunities
