Job Opportunity: Higher-Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Southall Hub, a thriving and improving 11-16 community special school in the Telford area of Shropshire.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with children with special needs, including those with autistic spectrum conditions. They will be confident and competent in guiding and leading young people, with a strong understanding of Child Protection policies and a good command of both written and spoken English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with complex learning difficulties and autistic spectrum conditions
  • Leading and guiding young people in a positive and supportive manner
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality education
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of individualized education plans

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special needs
  • Strong understanding of Child Protection policies and procedures
  • Good command of both written and spoken English
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
