Currently seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer based in the South West region. You will work within the optics and fibre-optic sector as part of a multi-disciplinary R&D team on the development of new modules and sub-systems for the industrial, aerospace & defence and bio-photonics market segments.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team including optical and mechanical engineers developing new cutting-edge products for applications in Satellite communications, industrial sensing and biomedical imaging, which will drive and deliver sustained revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Electronic design engineering from concept to manufacture and test.
  2. Lead the design of electronic sub-systems including requirements analysis and development of specifications.
  3. Design of laser drivers, optical detection circuits and digital control electronics.
  4. Produce and maintain embedded firmware/software associated with digital control of opto-electronic sub-systems.
  5. Reliability and parts stress analysis, obsolescence management as required.
  6. Work with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new opportunities and generate solutions for customers.
  7. Support gate reviews and handover process from design to production.
Requirements:
  1. Industrial experience in an electronics design & development function.
  2. Good analogue/digital/mixed signal circuit design.
  3. Experience in Firmware/Software development for ARM based micros.
  4. Schematic capture and layout (e.g. Altium).
  5. Experience with prototyping and laboratory test equipment.
  6. Bachelor's degree level in Electrical and/or Electronics engineering.
