Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain plant equipment to optimize output and minimize non-compliances.
- Reduce the company's carbon footprint by efficient resource utilization and waste disposal.
- Liaise with the production team to ensure timely start-up of plant operations.
- Work safely, adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
- Prepare estimates, requisitions, and inspect equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage small projects and assist with major projects to enhance plant efficiency.
- Regularly conduct audits to ensure compliance with AIB/EFSIS/GMP standards.
- Understand and implement food safety legislation, including HACCP.
- Work with the Production and Quality teams to improve operating practices and enhance product quality and customer service.
- Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental requirements.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Working experience in the food or consumer products industry, with a good track record of acquiring Engineering skills and continuous learning.
- A good understanding of inter-discipline skills and multi-skilling is preferred.
- A solid grounding in food handling safe practices is essential.
- Awareness of HACCP, PUWER, LOLA, and COSHH is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC drives and associated control equipment is required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal with suppliers and internal customers.
- PC literate, with experience of MS Word, Lotus Notes, and Excel Spreadsheets.
- Problem-solving and fault-finding skills are essential.
- Able to interpret schematic diagrams and work on own initiative.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards work and colleagues, with the ability to work in a team.
