About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric/Children's Nurse to join our dynamic Community Team. As a Children's Community Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children with complex health needs in a community setting.

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background in supporting children with complex health care needs and will be able to work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to promote excellent care coordination.

You will be responsible for assessing nursing needs, managing care, and overseeing the provision of equipment and consumables. You will also participate in the training of parents and settings to ensure the consistent application of care.

We work closely with the Special Needs School Nursing Team and Children's Complex Packages of Care Team to provide a genuinely child-centred service. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Children Therapy Teams and wider health, education, and social care.

Person Specification
  • Professional Degree or equivalent
  • Registered nurse qualification - Child Branch or relevant experience
  • Current Professional Registration with NMC
Knowledge and Experience
  • Understanding of clinical governance framework & implications for practice, including audit and research governance
  • Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for children with diverse needs
  • Knowledge of a range of therapy techniques and programmes for children with diverse needs/related to client group
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours
  • Problem solving/Decision making in relation to clinical practice, NMC standards and implications for practice
