Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at First Tech Limited, based in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring technical quality standards are met and that company and industry quality procedures and controls are followed.
This is a hands-on position, which includes physically checking equipment alongside generated paperwork. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar position, ideally within manufacturing, inspection, and/or NDT work activities. Experience within the Lifting/Tooling Industry would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with developing and updating quality control standards and procedures.
- Conduct visual final inspections of various equipment in accordance with Company processes and procedures, recording and signing off paperwork.
- Complete reports where deviations are found or materials are rejected that do not conform to quality or industry standards.
- Review test documents/certificates to ensure they correspond with equipment and complete final sign-off prior to delivery of equipment to clients.
- Evaluate equipment used within the workshop to ensure it is calibrated, and calibration certificates are valid.
- Produce reports of defects and issues, including ensuring remedial actions/follow-ups are carried out and conducted.
- Maintain all records pertaining to the quality system.
- Ensure the work area is safe to carry out activities and conduct risk assessments as required.
- Provide cover to the Despatch Team Lead as necessary.
- Prior experience in a similar position.
- Ideal qualifications in quality assurance/control.
- Experience working according to ISO 9001:2015, 45001, 14001.
- An understanding of industry safety standards.
- A background in Manufacturing/Inspection and/or NDT work activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- An organised and structured approach to work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
- The ability to identify anomalies and escalate as necessary.
- A flexible approach, team player, and ability to work independently.
First Tech Limited provides Lifting, Inspection, Equipment Rentals, and HAVS Management and Analysis services to the Energy, Infrastructure, and Utilities Industries worldwide. Our UK operating bases are located in Aberdeen and London.
LocationThis role is based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
