Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Analyst to join our team in Wilton for a 12-month role.

This days-based position involves working on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern, with three 12-hour shifts and one 11-hour shift. Our client provides comprehensive testing services and requires an expert Laboratory Analyst to contribute to their success.

• Main Responsibilities:
• Laboratory Operations: Execute laboratory methods and procedures according to specifications, ensuring quality-assured results for customers.
• Customer Liaison: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine non-scheduled activities, identify optimal solutions, and guarantee financial recovery for provided services.
• Safety and Quality Assurance: Develop and implement SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) policies, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), Risk Assessment, Safety/Housekeeping, and Quality related activities, including audits as required by relevant systems and procedures.
• Equipment Management: Serve as the focal point for specific areas within the laboratory, managing the delivery and development of that service offering. Maximize uptime availability of laboratory equipment through maintenance, overhaul, and liaison with analytical instrument engineers.
• Method Development: Support and lead the development of new methods and commissioning of new equipment.
• Requirements:
• Qualifications: HNC/degree in a science discipline.
• Experience: At least 2 years' industrial experience in the application of technical skills in an equivalent laboratory role.
• Skills: Good SHE awareness, including application of COSHH, Risk Assessments, and laboratory standards.

We estimate the salary range for this role to be between £35,000 and £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
