About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Safety Assurance Engineer to join our team at Capgemini Engineering. As a key member of our Product and Systems Engineering Unit, you will be responsible for providing System Functional Safety Engineering and Software Assurance expertise to help our clients develop and deliver safety-critical systems.

Our team works on a variety of projects, including large ATC software development projects, development and legislation of AI-based remote inspection, maintenance, and repair vehicles for railway infrastructure maintenance, and system integration and software development for a submarine command and control subsystem.

As a Senior Software Safety Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our clients' systems meet the highest standards of safety and reliability. This will involve working closely with our clients to understand their safety requirements and developing solutions that meet those needs.

We are looking for an experienced Safety Engineering Professional with knowledge of system and software safety standards such as BS EN 61508, RTCA-DO-178 A/B/C, BS EN 26262, Def Stan 00-55, and BS EN 50128. You will also have experience working on high SIL/DAL projects and producing documentation demonstrating compliance to these standards.

Additionally, you will have experience drafting and reviewing safety deliverables and engaging with clients. You will be a Chartered Engineer appointed by the Engineering Council and a UK national capable of gaining SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide System Functional Safety Engineering and Software Assurance expertise to clients
  • Develop and implement safety solutions that meet client requirements
  • Work closely with clients to understand their safety needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
  • Ensure that client systems meet the highest standards of safety and reliability
  • Draft and review safety deliverables and engage with clients

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree and experience in Safety Engineering
  • Knowledge of system and software safety standards such as BS EN 61508, RTCA-DO-178 A/B/C, BS EN 26262, Def Stan 00-55, and BS EN 50128
