HGV Mechanic Job Opportunity

Ideal Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced and qualified HGV Mechanic to join our reputable client in Middlewich. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company that values its staff and offers a range of benefits and job satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing scheduled servicing inspections and preparing vehicles for testing as required
  • Conducting MOT tests for taxis
  • Carrying out regular safety inspections of HGVs in accordance with statutory requirements and repairing defects as necessary
  • Inspecting vehicles, plant, and specialist equipment to diagnose faults and repair as necessary
  • Completing records relating to inspections, services, and repairs in accordance with statutory and administrative requirements
  • Liaising with colleagues, vehicle operatives, and managers to prioritize workload and organize replacement parts and specialist support when required
  • Supervising and directing the activities of apprentices
  • Providing out-of-hours repairs and breakdown cover as required by front-line services

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Mechanic, specifically on heavy vehicles
  • Qualified to IMI NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (heavy vehicles)
  • Must have own tools
  • Irtec qualification advantageous
