We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Work Team Manager to lead our Multi Agency Referral Unit based in Truro. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in improving the welfare, safety, and outcomes of children and young people supported by the team.

The multi-agency referral unit is the front door for requests for social work support and is co-located with the Early Help Hub, offering an integrated and proportionate response to requests for help and support. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely, coordinated, and proportionate responses to ensure child safety.

  • A strong understanding of working with thresholds and assessment of need to identify early risk, harm, and need is essential for this role.
  • Experience in leading and managing a busy front-line children's services team is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence when speaking to parents, young people, and professionals to gather and assess information for decision making are vital.
  • Working closely with children of all ages and with parents in stressful and challenging circumstances requires empathy and a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • The ability to work at pace, prioritizing to ensure the children's front door is safely managed and children and families access services in a timely way is critical.

Key Requirements:

  1. 5 years written references with gaps confirmed.
  2. Enhanced DBS.
  3. Proof of qualification or additional training.
  4. Social Work England registration number.
  5. 3 years post-qualifying experience.

Benefits:

  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • £34.13 per hour PAYE.
  • Weekly or fortnightly payments.
