About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) department at Waltham Forest Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with ASC/SEN, ensuring they have access to high-quality education and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the guidance of our SENCO, ASC Managers, and HLTAs to implement agreed work programs with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to understand the needs of pupils and provide targeted support.
  • Support pupils in accessing schemes of learning, manage or prepare resources, and deliver specific programs as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience working with children with ASC/SEN.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Resilience and flexibility to respond to the varying demands of the school day and pupils' needs.
  • Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and training.
