Prospero Teaching is partnering with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK to provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.

We are seeking a Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent to provide KS1-KS4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis to students who are not currently accessing mainstream education.

The students have a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, and require support with their core subjects, Maths and English, working at a lower level. The tutor will need to assess their current ability and reintroduce education into their routine whilst a suitable school provision is found.

Lessons will take place either in a local Library or the young person's home. Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must hold QTS and have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide KS1-KS4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis to students with Autism and ADHD.
  • Assess the current ability of students and reintroduce education into their routine.
  • Work with students at a lower level, requiring patience and creativity.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child-related references.

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
  • UK classroom teaching experience.
  • Be creative, patient, and willing to think outside of the box.
