Instructional Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning and Development Coach to work with learners up to level 5 in residential childcare settings. The role is hybrid, with opportunities for occasional travel around Kent.

• Manage a caseload/cohort of learners, ensuring key performance targets are achieved and learners complete their programme of learning and/or qualification(s) within agreed timescales.
• Attend teaching and learning sessions, working towards related training plans and knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
• Liaise with learners and employers to ensure that training and development needs are met, including at least minimum off-the-job training for apprenticeship learners.
• Plan and carry out holistic assessment and sign off units and/or areas of competence on an ongoing basis as knowledge, skills, and behaviours are demonstrated.
• Support learners with additional learning support needs, adapting delivery according to individual learning plans.
• Demonstrate expertise in technology (e-portfolio, Zoom, Teams, emails, Skype), ensuring learners have sufficient support/teaching/guidance to access course content and resources.
• Deliver commercial training courses to employers and staff in subjects where you have occupational experience and competence.

1. Assessor qualification
2. Minimum level 3 teaching qualification (ideally higher) but willing to work to a level 5
3. Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent (TAQA, A1/A2 or TDLB Units D32/33)
4. Relevant vocational qualification in area of occupational competence
5. Recognised Level 3 teaching qualification (PTLLS, L3 Award in Education & Training) or above
6. Experience working in CYP as a manager

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
