Geography Curriculum Leader for Enhanced Learning

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Geography teacher to lead our department at Wayman Learning Trust. As a Geography Curriculum Leader, you will be responsible for shaping the future of Geography education within our supportive and academically rigorous environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to ensure the Geography department aligns with the school's overall vision and educational goals.
- Teaching and Learning: Oversee the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment in Geography across Key Stage 3 and potentially Key Stage 4.
- Innovation and Engagement: Identify and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies to enhance student engagement and geographical understanding.
- Collaboration and Support: Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the Geography department, promoting the sharing of best practices and professional development.
- Teaching and Assessment: Teach a full timetable of engaging and stimulating Geography lessons, demonstrating strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Utilize various teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential.
- Assessment and Progress: Employ effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and inform future teaching.
- External Partnerships: Maintain strong links with external geographical societies and organizations to enrich the curriculum and provide students with wider learning opportunities.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the department's resources budget effectively.
- A qualified Geography teacher with a minimum of 5 years' successful teaching experience, including significant leadership experience.
- A proven track record of raising standards in Geography and a demonstrable passion for the subject.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to staying abreast of current trends and developments in Geography education.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
