Job Description: We're looking for a skilled individual to join our team as a Freight Market Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing ocean imports, exports, and cross-trade operations. Key responsibilities include:

Main Duties:
  • Receive customer quotations, negotiate rates, and confirm availability.
  • Cover Ocean Imports, Exports, and Cross Trade.
  • Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframe.
  • Communicate with customers to manage and follow up all quotes.
  • Track success/failure rate of quotes, reporting back to management.
  • Develop and build relationships, provide customer service.
  • Produce strategic tariffs when required.
  • Monitor carrier websites, engage with ocean freight operational teams.

About You:
  • You have experience in ocean freight industry and operational knowledge.
  • You understand how to influence profitability through effective pricing.
  • You can cope with pressure and meet fixed deadlines.
  • You have strong numerical and commercial skills.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have excellent attention to detail.
