BAM Nuttall, a leading civil engineering company, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team in Scotland.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled commercial professional to work on large-scale energy projects across Scotland. As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects within budget and timeframe, while maintaining effective relationships with clients and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial management, with experience working on complex infrastructure projects. They will be able to provide expert advice on contract negotiations, insurance claims, and legal matters.

A competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum is offered, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits including a company car, pension contributions, and private healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain effective communications with project stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  2. Provide commercial input to project strategy, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and timeframe.
  3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring that BAM Nuttall's interests are protected.
  4. Manage insurance claims and disputes, working closely with legal teams to resolve issues.
  5. Monitor and control project costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements
  • 4+ years' experience in commercial management, preferably in the civil engineering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and negotiation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as commerce, construction management, or law.
