They hold the Investors in People Gold Accreditation Quality Standard Mark and are LEXCEL, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO accredited and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
The Family & Children Department is ranked and recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for family and matrimonial work, providing confidential advice with effective representation. The team includes practitioners who have achieved the Law Society's Children Law and Family Law Advanced accreditations, providing advocacy in all court proceedings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Report directly to Department Director
- Assist with casework, including dealing with a range of Family matters (LAA Funded and Private client work) and undertaking own advocacy
- Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases
- Deal with correspondence
- Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
- Prepare draft documents, including witness statements, and process evidence
- Attend conferences and court
- Maintain accurate time costing procedures
- Implement recommendations made by supervisor following monthly file reviews
- Ensure compliance with file management
- Demonstrate passion and legal experience in Family & Children Law
- Strong academic background with a Law degree
- Clear understanding and application of Family & Children Law
- Business acumen and ability to market the Company
- Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative
- Excellent IT Skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
