We are seeking an experienced Lifelong Learning and Development Specialist to join our team at the City & County of Swansea.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional who can coordinate training programs, motivate colleagues to achieve personal and professional growth, assess and monitor training needs, create digital and physical training materials, and present in-person or online training sessions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be digitally savvy with experience in creating engaging training content.

As a Lifelong Learning and Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our staff and contributing to the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of our community.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training programs and events to support the development of staff skills and knowledge
  • Motivate and encourage colleagues to achieve personal and professional growth
  • Assess and monitor training needs to ensure that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
  • Create digital and physical training materials, including presentations, manuals, and other resources
  • Present in-person or online training sessions to staff and external stakeholders
  • Source specialist training and development opportunities to support the ongoing learning and development of staff

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g. education, training, human resources)
  • Proven experience in training coordination, instructional design, and adult learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Digital literacy and experience in creating engaging training content

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including:
